Thanks to spoilers for The Originals Season 1 Episode 15, we know that the latest installment will feature a series of flashbacks to 1919, as told to Cami by Klaus. Not only do Rebekah and Marcel betray Niklaus, but Mikael also pops up to wreak havoc on his so-called evil spawn and the vampires of New Orleans. Sounds pretty intense and devastating, right? Yes, but judging by new footage of Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) hanging out together at a party back in the day, it seems there might be a bit of merriment in order as well. Pip pip hooray!
Unlike other sneak peeks we’ve received for the show so far — namely, the ones that promise death and bloodshed galore — the “Le Guignol” web clip is glamorous to max and gives us a glimpse into the lush and vibrant world of the Mikaelson brothers, who are surprisingly getting along in the Prohibition era. There’s even a party underway: the live music is thumping, the guests in attendance are jitterbugging their hearts out, and the alcohol flows free. “Well, this is a first,” Klaus muses. “Werewolves, vampires, witches, and dirty cops. All happy as clams and drunk as stouts.”
“You gotta love this city,” a mystery lady (Celeste inhabiting an innocent witch’s body perhaps?), standing alongside him and his brother at the bar, states in agreement. Elijah pours up some shots for his lovely guest and his brother and toasts to good health, mirth, and prosperity. “To a new era,” he announces, raising his glass. “Collaboration in the face of prohibition.”
“To your docks, their booze, and our theaters to hide it under. You’re welcome, boys,” their beautiful flapper friend responds and Klaus smirks at her sassy speech. Then, in unison, they all clink their drinks together and gulp down their booze.
